Electricity is probable the most versatile form of energy available today, so it is only natural that we should try to produce electricity directly from the sun’s energy. To date Photovoltaic (PV) panels have not achieved efficiencies higher than 20% in commercial applications, while their cost is relatively high. Despite these factors, PV energy continues to gain traction due to the versatility the resulting electricity offers. There are two types of installation, each with different economic drivers:
