The new legislation coming into effect in Spain in 2006 is designed to provide 60-75% of hot water requirements of all schools, hospitals, offices, shopping centres, public buildings, etc. using solar energy. Output per square metre has increased over the years so that today the area of panels required for a given building has reduced considerably. This reduction in area and the wide range of different collectors available mean that architectural integration has improved significantly, and system cost is lower.
